Hello, new here and would like some help with how to understand the "Body plate"

Hi
My son bought an Olds Delta 88 from 1966 and we are trying to understand what the numbers and letters means. Some of it I found through googling around but not all. Anyone here who can help? I'd also wonder what specific motor there where in it from the beginning?

The green part I solved but not the numbers and letters in red.

Sorry for bad spelling and grammar I'm swedish

My -guesses- are:

RELEASE: 6-2711 = Export Car Order (XCO) Number
PAINT: AA = Black (Upper)/Black (Lower)
TRIM: 354 = White
GVW = Gross Vehicle Weight
PVA = ?

Yes, trim refers to the interior color.

What is the color of the car, black? What color are the seats, white?

The color of the car is black, the seats are changed to red/black vinyl, the door panels are more like sun bleached wine red and not in vinyl, the headliner I guess where white in the beginning now it looks like a smoker lived in the car "yellow/brown"... My son has a lot of work to do to get the care in good shape both inside and outside.

Welcome to the world of Oldsmobile!

The V-8 engines in 1966 were the small block 330, the big block 400, and the big block 455. T\

The 400 was used in the 442 (and maybe the Turnpike Cruiser) only, so the Delta 88 would have had either the 330 or the 425. I am not very familiar with the big cars from that era so I don't know which one yours would have had.

C'mon, that's not true. You know it, too, if you think about it.

The V8s were the 330, 400, and 425 in i966.

Since this is a Delta, it should have come with a 425. The 330 would only have been available in the Jetstar.

Ok, that sort of makes sense, as I did find that TRIM 354 referred to a burgundy color for the Cadillac model line. It sort of makes sense that GM would use the same trim code (at least in terms of color category) across all model lines.

Trim 354 is Fawn, also called Antique Parchment.
