hello from Montana
just found this site, did a lil lurking, and i know the wealth of info here will be a great help. i bought my car when i was 15........that was 32 years ago! it never really got the attention it deserved until just a couple years ago, and now it looks pretty good, and i get to drive it often. its a 67 f85/442 clone. paid $150 for it. nothing but reg. maintanence and a respray.
anyway, thanks for all the help in advance.

Welcome to the site Jeff, nice looking car! And being a post makes it stand out in the crowd
I know at least parts of Montana are pretty dry. Did you re-do the vinyl top? Did you have much rust issues under it? I do like the looks of vinyl, but even in my part of the country they tend to rust out the roof underneath. John

Very clean car. I like the vinyl too. In my neck of the woods the edge for an inch around the whole top would be cornflakes. It rains a lot here - broken up with occasional showers.
Welcome and enjoy!

the car was originally red, no vinyl top. i used a gloss truck bed liner on the roof, never rust, never peel. the molding i made myself. for all the years ive had it, i wanted it to look like this, but in a real bright baby blue, like a dummy, when i went to buy my paint, i started looking through the color chips.............itll be blue this year! might even get my true-spokes back on it then. thanks for the welcome.

Welcome aboard. You did well for a $150.00 purchase. Got a 'before' pic? IMO the combo of black over green looks fantastic. If you have photoshop, I'd do a rendition to see what bright baby blue would look like on it before committing to the project. Nice work on the vinyl trim. What did you use to make it?

here it is when i first took it out of storage. and one in primer.
the molding is commercially available at trim shops, just peel and stick, you just have to cut it right to make it look like it should. unless you look close, you cant tell its not factory.

Light Regatta Blue? THAT is a cool color; very nice choice - it will make your car pop! Here's what it looks like on a Stang
