Hello I'm Brandon
Hello everybody.
I just joined the classic oldsmobile forums.
I had an 97 cutlass supreme sl 4 door my first car in high school. Fast forward to now i always wanted an G body cutlass or regal but have an family so i went with an 1980 ninety eight and i don't regret it one bit at all.
I bought the car an month ago and had been driving it to work almost daily. It needs some things done.
So far i have replaced the radiator with aluminum one i had laying around and i had to fabricate mounts for it to hold to the radiator core support.
Couldn't find correct hoses for the radiator yet so i went with flex for now.
Two post stereo is broken and i am hearing impaired so i am working on putting 3 pack gauge in that area without hacking up the dash at all.
I also had to put 2 bolts on the driver side block mount since there was none there at time of purchase.
I thought it was very odd that the olds 307 have an turbo 400 behind it?
I tried to upload photos but i couldn't....

Welcome to Classic Olds.To get a great explanation on how to post pictures,in the newbie section where your post is located, click on The Newbie Forum, and the first post by Alan R gives step by step on how to post pictures. You are certainly not the first one that had trouble with posting pictures the first time. If you will read on down someone else has another method that is explained. Either one should work. Best of luck, and we will be watching for your pictures. Larry

I finally figured out that the photos was too big so i reduced the size and added one more photo showing i had to add glass pack i had laying around and fab an downturn at work after hours since the whole exhaust from cat back fell off on way home the day i got the car. I think it sounds and feels much better this way anyways.
Here's the photos and i also finally got the custom gauge console panel in dash i am thinking i will keep the factory wood bezel trim and store it and make an bezel for the gauges to go in place.
EDIT: thanks rocket and oldcutlass for the friendly welcome

Thanks Don and yep for sure it rides very nice compared to the air ride on my 99 Deville. The cadillac can't compare on washboard and potholes on gravel roads and the bumpy highways

You, young friend, are riding in style. 77-84 Ninety Eights will always hold their style and comfort.
With a 307 that car would probably have had a Turbo 200 or 350. The 400 was used pretty much only in trucks by then.

Thanks oldcutlass that's what i was hoping that it would clean up well after i get some hours in it.
Rocketraider. Me young? Ah i won't argue with that lol, that's what stumped me because I expected the 307 to have an th350 behind it. I suspect the ninety eight must have been an 5.7 diesel at one point before but didn't the olds 5.7 diesel still came with an th350 or 2004r correct?
I agree the ninety eight is one very great classy looking bar that's what drew me to those instead of the delta 88 all over place here. I was tossing up between the 80 ninety eight or an newer cadillac brougham. The brougham was asking for much more and i didn't cared for body color white on the brougham.

Well i pulled slimmest tach i have out of an pile of tach in box to put in the car. that's why there is an 5 inch tach in there. Yes there's an 2 inch tach in the box but that one came from harbor freight and the led lighting is BLINDING at night!
Also before i forgot to mention. I know the radiator have no fan shroud and the factory one is too big so i plan on fabricating one up or finding another that will fit well for mechanical fan set up
