Hello...I am new and need some expert decoding

I own a 1970 Olds 98 convertible with about 84k milles. It is really original and in pretty darn good shape. I am trying to decode the cowl tag and I think that I am just chasing my tail. And really what I am trying to figure out is did the car originally come with a blue top as opposed to the white one that is on it now?

ST 70 = style/model year = 1970

38467:
3 = GM division = Oldsmobile
84 = model series = 98 (which is a "C" body)
67 = body type = convertible

LAN = assembly plant = Lansing MI

378889 BDY = Fisher body number (no relation to the VIN at all)

TR 023 = interior color and front seat type = ? (I don't have this info)
20 C PNT = lower body color (20 = azure blue) and convertible top color (C = blue)

02D = time build code = February (02), 4th week of that month (D), 1970

If the top had originally been white, the upper body code would have been "A". The original top was probably replaced with a white top because the then owner had trouble finding the right shade of blue that was on the original top.

Hope this helps and also someone with "C" body info can fill in the TRIM info!

Thank you

You have saved me hours of head scratching. I can already tell that this board is the one place to be when you own an Oldsmobile. I am also sure that this is the start of many questions that I will have.
