hello fellow olds fans!

Hello fellow Olds fans!!!

My family owned an Olds dealership for almost 50 years. My grandpa opened the business on the south-side of Chicago when my dad was one. My dad was a huge Olds fan. Instead of keeping pictures of his 3 daughters in his wallet, he kept pictures of his cars. Every weekend my family was at a car show. I remember how crazy he would get around Nationals getting his cars ready. So of course groing up at the dealership & the shows, I became an Olds fan. My friends think i am crazy when I whip out my camera phone to take pictures of a 442 driving down the street. They also just can't seem to understand why my family has so many cars when we don't use them to drive around all the time. Like I try to tell them, these aren't just cars, they are memebrs of the family. It is so awesome to find a site like this with so many Olds fans!!!

Welcome. Beautiful car and what a history you and your family have with Oldsmobiles. There are going to be a lot of jealous people here. I know I am.

WOW, I feel like I just read a post from a sister! My Dad "brainwashed me" at an early age too! and I've been grateful ever since!
I love Oldsmobiles & have never owned anything else!
we'll have to swap stories about our Dads, their fanatical hobbies, and how we've grown to embrace it all!

I didn't grow up in Chicago, so I don't remember your family's dealership, but let me add my welcome from the North Side.

That doesn't look like just any 70 cutlass there--its a pace car convertible by the look of that stripe. Another car I'd like to own one of these days. Not to leave out the the 72 in the frame, which is beautiful by itself.

Oh, and I do need one of the rear quarter markers (gr 2.575, #230741) for my 69 H/O!

Smile Welcome Welcome Welcome

What a beauty of an Olds you have there , looking forward to see more pics soon I hope. Did your dad put away any parts for full size Olds? Just that I got this 69-98 convertible that I need some almost impossible parts to find. That aside we are very happy to have Olds people on this site. If you have lots of pics to post you could try using Flickr to hold pics and post a link like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/wolfman98/ you could also use photobucket
