hello everyone

Hello everyone,
I'm new here,y name is Mike,hoping to get some education on the 455 big blocks,I have come accross one I hope in rebuildable condition,body tag on the car is from a '71 delta 88 2 door coupe,the car went over a cliff a few decades ago,anyways I have pulled out the manifold,heads,working on the block,wondering what to do with it

I had one of those too. Used it for a boat anchor.

Seriously, someone here will be able to help you with your project. Start out by stating your goals for the engine.

it looks alot like a boat anchor at the moment,lol...........
after taking the manifold and heads apart seem its in good shape!!!!!
I would like to get some serious h.p. out of this engine and put it into my old 4wd dodge truck for fun,budget being a reality(bummer huh)it will take some time for this build to be done.....thanks for some feedback on this

When I took the top end off mine, the #7 cylinder wall was cracked in 2 places (not sleevable) and there was rust everywhere in the block. Couldn't even punch the cylinders out with a 20 lb sledge and drift.

You should be able to get lots of hp and torque out of that block. Have no idea what you're going to have to do to adapt it to a Dodge though. Don't think you can bolt up a 455 to a Dodge tranny.

re: budget bummers. Reality is a cold hard fact of life that you have to work with and overcome if possible. Living is the reality, the engine is a toy.
