Hello from CT

Hey everyone,
I drove my '65 Cutlass convertible everyday for years and loved every moment of it. It never let me down or was towed one time, even when I drove it repeatedly back and forth from Connecticut to Pennsylvania during college. On the way to work one day following graduation I blew a wheel cylinder and smashed into the trailer hitch of a stopped Tahoe. I was devestated. I picked up a parts car to replaced the trashed bumper and grill but didn't have the resources to get it back rolling. Ten years later and it's time to get on with it! I appreciate all of your advice and guidance and will say thanks in advance!

Welcome, sorry to hear of its misfortunate wound. I think its cool that you hung on to it for future resurrection.

Welcome to the site... It's always good to hear of people who keep their piece of Olds history for as long as they do... Good luck with getting it back to it's glory...

Welcome to the website. I also am from CT, in the Northeast corner. If you are around this neck of the woods, there is a great Saturday cruise night in Pomfret CT.

Luckily for us in Connecticut there are more than a few members from CT that offer quality parts at reasonable prices. Lots of good people here willing to share their expertise. A great resource for advise, parts & opinions. Good luck bringing her back to her former glory.

Good luck on the restoration. Hope you are able to enjoy cruising in it again soon. They are fun to drive and get lots of looks. They are also relatively rare as just over 12000 were produced in the US and of that number 3468 were 442's. I can't find the production figures for Canada, I assume they would be quite small. Anyway it's nice to see another one being saved!
Please post some before pictures and more pics as the resto progresses.
