Hello

My name is Tom and I live in Oklahoma. I bought a 64 Jetstar 1 last saturday. It was a west Texas car it's whole life so it's very solid. No major rust problems, just a little behind each rear wheel at the bottom of the quarter panels and a little on the passenger floor pan. It still has the original 394 with 94,000 miles on it. I got a surprise when I popped the trunk to see the original wheel covers and jack still with the car.

You got me thinking about my engine with the alternator comment. The color of my engine, (blue) leads me to believe its not the original 345hp 394. It does have a 4 barrel carb and the UHC stickers on the air cleaner but after researching the last couple days, the 345hp engines were all red.

Verified the engine from the ID plate on the left side. It has J (unit number) S stamped on it. So it is a Starfire 345/394 engine. I took the air cleaner lid off and it's silver underneath. The throttle cable bracket has spots of red paint showing through. For some odd reason this engine was painted baby blue. And at one time the car had a white vinyl top and two antennas on the back. It will be back to mostly original when I'm done with it. The only thing I want to add is a dual reservoir master cylinder and aftermarket rims.
