Hello

Hi, my name is Jared, been a member for a little while now and just getting around to doing my newbie page. I've been a car guy since I was about 12. I've always liked Oldsmobile. I had a friend in high school with a 71 SX, that was my first real experience and I've wanted my own ever since. Twenty plus years later, I finally got a 72 Cutlass Supreme. Found in Eastern Sd, having been off the road for a number of years, last tagged in 84, I've got a bit of work ahead of me. Thankfully it missed out on a lot if rust and road rash having been parked that long, however, there certainly has been numerous other areas that have needed attention, brakes were frozen, exhaust rusted off, original engine is stuck and I've yet to figure out how to get it apart, and that's all just to get it on the road so I can see what else is wrong. The car currently has a 350 4bbl from a 70 cutlass that runs fine as far as I can tell.
I've always been into classics more that these newer vehicles, my first vehicle was a 71 gmc 4x4, then a couple Trans Ams, V8 S10, in '08 started a project car with my dad, a 72 Nova SS, mostly original minus original engine. Currently building a 396 for it, and I build Muncie 4 speeds on the side, so naturally, it's gonna be a 4 speed car. Also currently in the midst of a 79 Blazer, really just building an engine as the rest is in good shape, and a 66 Caprice with a 454 th350 combo that's currently for sale to fund some of the work on the Cutlass.

I joined the Army right out of high school, and worked on just about every piece of equipment they have that rides on the ground, have been envolved in drag racing(basic street car stuff, no high dollar adjustable suspensions), dirt track racing at our local 1/2 mile dirt oval, and just a love for cars in general.
I'm new to Oldsmobile though, and interested in learning about their differences, and learning as much about everything else Olds as I possibly can
