Hello
Hello
I just picked up a 55 Super 88 4 dr post. It has a 305 chevy under the hood hooked up to a TH350 tranny. Where should I ask if a 324 (or any small block Olds) will hook up to that same tranny?
Growing up I have owned a 63 Dynamic 88, two 68 Cutlass S coupes, a 69 Cutlas S Convertible, a 72 Cutlass Supreme and a 98 Intrigue ... I loved each one of them.
I'm glad I found this site, it's very cool.

Welcome Roy, we do like pictures. You will need an adapter plate or have to find a (BOP T350) Buick, Pontiac, or Olds trans. You will also have to mod motor mounts and brackets, some minor wiring changes, and all the accessory brackets for the 324 will be needed.

Thanks a lot oldcutlass, much appreciated. All of the pics that I have are kinda dark but I'll shrink some and put them up while waiting for a sunny day.

Welcome aboard.
Beings it has already been altered I probably would just drop a fresh Chevy 327 or 350 in it (gag choke).
If money isn't a problem it can be put back to all modern Olds and it might be cheaper to find a complete Olds 350 and 350 transmission rather than add an adapter to what you have now. As I tend to be a purest in some of these matters I would be looking for a 324 and a slant pan and put it back to what it was most of its life , of course your mileage may varey.

Here is good. The 324 is a first gen Olds V8 and shares nothing (not even the bellhousing bolt pattern) with the 1964-90 second gen Olds motors. The good news is that a 324 will bolt to the original factory motor mounts (assuming they weren't damaged in the Chebby conversion). The 700R4 uses the Chevy bolt pattern. You can get an adapter kit for either the first gen Olds motors or the second gen with the BOP pattern.
