Hello!

Howdy! I'm obviously new to the forum, and still slightly new to the car world. I grew up around it but never really to interest until about two years ago, when I was 17. Yes that makes me 19. And I absolutely love classic cars and carb engines. Just a month ago I got sick of my dad toying with the idea of letting me fix up his '69 350 Chevelle. So I went out and picked up my own classic car: A black '79 Cutlass Supreme Brougham edition with a T-Top and an Olds 307 vin-Y, which i threw a 4-barrel Rochester on. It's spent it's 33 life span up here in the north, and doesn't have to much rust on her. The frames solid, she ran with some problems, and I only paid $300. She needs some work, and I'd love to hear peoples ideas. So nice to meet all of you!

Welcome to the site. G-bodys make a great street strip car with a 455 under the hood.

I was toying with the idea of changing the engine, but I kind of want to keep it. What I've wanted is an old car with a smooth ride, looks good and can roll the tires. A friend and I have already thought of ways to get it up to about 300 horse, which is good enough for me. Another buddy of mine has a '95 mercedes E420, and I'd be able to beat him.

Welcome to CO! Sounds like you found a great car to start with. You'll have to post some pictures of your new ride.

Thanks! I love it. She's kind of a pain in the butt. I just had to replace the cap and rotor because the cheap one that was on it blew, melted the plastic and everything. I put the lowest MSD Performance one in, but that's just temporary as I'm currently broke. Here are two links to the best pictures I have of it. They kinda suck because they're with my phone.

New, "young blood" is always good to see. Keep enjoying that ride, and turning wrenches!
