Hello

Just wanted to say hello, I live in southeast Ohio, have had the 66 Cutlass for more than 16 years and it will never leave. I am retired, 62, have been getting grease under my fingernails since I was big enough to take my bicycle apart.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, and "Hello Richard", glad to see a familiar Olds "gearhead".
I am going to try to post a couple of pictures, hopefully. The first 3 were taken today, the interior is one I already had.
This is actually my Sons car. I built it for him and had it ready for his 16th birthday in March of 1997. It took a couple of years of work to get it ready for him. He picked the color and paint scheme from a 1996 Corvette Grand Sport commerative Chevy built that year. He drove it to high school and whenever and whereever he wanted. There was always plenty of vehicles around as I am always buying and selling (over 300 cars and trucks so far, I quit counting). So he didn't drive the 66 to the mall. Somehow it survived. It had the original drivetrain then and up until 5 years ago. I didn't do much with it, it sat a lot, I always had some other old car to play with, and still do. But I finally decided to spend some time and money on it, my Son is not interested in such stuff, so I was pretty much free to do as I wanted, as long as he approved of everything. So I had a 70 model 455 rebuilt with a small cam, put a 400 turbo with switch pitch and aftermarket converter, it has plenty of stall now, a 12 bolt Chevy with 355 posi, changed the wheels again, and started driving it more. It is still his, and he drives it when he wants, I am just the caretaker (and money giver). It has always lived in one of my garages. He has a bike he spends a lot of time with, and I have another toy to play with, there is never any conflict, we get along GREAT. He lives across the alley from me so he is a big help wheen I need it.
This winter I put disc brakes on the front, new control arms on the rear from UMI with upper adjustible, rear frame braces, 1" rear and 1.25 front sway bars. I had previously done all the front end with urethane bushings and new parts as needed along with a Chip Woyner 12=1 ratio steering box. I'm very pleased with it.
Next I am putting a big aluminum radiator, shroud, (looking for a shroud and brackets) big fan, whatever I can do to make it cool better. It doesn't overheat ever, but it can do better I think. Always something to do.
Have fun,
Mike
