Hello!

Hello from Pennsylvania - This is my first time posting here, but I have used this site quite a lot over the past 10 years or so restoring this 70-72 Cutlass Supreme. It's a 70 350 block and was originally a 72 Cutlass body that was rotting and eventually swapped many parts into this 71 Cutlass body. Still a project car but getting close, hard to find time with 3 little ones running around these days.

Thanks to everyone for all of their indirect assistance over the years!

Welcome. Very cool ride!

Are those wheels Cragar Soft 8s?

Welcome! Great color. What's the story with the fuel filter setup?

Yep, the rims are the Cragar's. And i'm not sure about the fuel filter, there was a glass one when I got it but it leaked all the time. I put a regular one on and then wrapped it when I was trying to figure out why it was having a hard time hot starting. I put in a 160 thermostat and an electric fan, just recently put a spacer under the carb based upon what I read here with the new fuel. Should I do something else with it?

Does the starter engage when you try to hot start it, or does it just click?

It would engage and sounds like it spins faster, but the engine stumbles. Only when I hold the gas pedal down does it start and causes everyone to look at me since the exhaust is extremely loud. Haven't had a chance to test with the spacer yet. The guy that put the exhaust on for me about 15 years ago cut the end of the headers and slipped the 3 inch dynomax bullet mufflers on the header with 3 inch pipes going in front of the rear tires. When I was 22 I loved it, but now that im 37, married, with 3 little kids I want it a bit quieter. lol.
