Greetings from Wisconsin!

Rather than continue to browse the site anonymously, I have joined the party. I'm a long time owner of a 58 Dynamic 88 sedan. After many years of occasional use, she is now driven daily, midwest winters excepted. Pretty hard to beat a car this size and age for driving pleasure, power and economy! Look forward to interacting with you all in the future. Regards, Alex

Just a few mile markers south of you...just outside of Reedsburg! Or, if you prefer, midway between you and another '58 in Baraboo.

Great, lets stay in touch. There's a car show in New Lisbon the 2nd of July.
Think you would be there? I'll send a PM with my e-mail and phone number. Lets talk.

Welcome to CO

Don't get to see many 58's, don't know why. I like them they are the chrome kings of the Oldsmobile world. We have one two door hardtop in our club that is really nice.

Thanks for the greetings! The problem I've found with the 58 is I just love driving the car so much it's going well beyond any semblance of logic! Drive it every day, and don't shy away from the Go! pedal. Just a super fun car to drive. Thinking I should get a backup one that's more suitable for daily driving!

I shall proffer a reason or two why one does not see many '58's. 1958 was a disaster for GM, for starters. Not that many cars were sold. Then, all the chrome they hung on all their cars made them into prime candidates for body cancer.

It is only with the passage of half a century that 58 anything by GM has begun to gain a modicum of popularity. In 1958 I thought the Chevrolet was an abomination in terms of looks. Now, it has acquired a certain appeal to it?
