Late last year I finally achieved a life long goal and bought myself a classic American car.
I am now the proud owner of a 1973 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. I believe its a 455 but I need to verify that.
Generally she's in very good condition. A previous owner has ratted the outside by scuffing the paint, neutralising and then clear-coating (although I question the quality of the clear-coat). It's a look I very much like and so will be keeping it like this. The underside however is practically rot free and the interior is in good nick too. Only real problems are the rubber perishing all over the place and some previous dodgy wiring bodges.
I look forward to hanging around the forums and picking everyone's brains from time to time!
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone
Yeah I've heard these are getting rare in the states let alone anywhere else in the world. I'll do my best to preserve her.
Yeah its a real head turner her in England. I'm in High Wycombe which is about a 45min drive north of London.
Our roads weren't really built for cars of this size but its actually a lot more manageable than you'd think. Country lanes are tricky but the benefit is that everyone coming the other way sees the car and gives me as much space as they can. Car parks are where the real fun begins! Most people with big American stuff in this country will take up 4 bays and then buy 4 tickets in the hope that traffic wardens will let us off (they don't always though). There is 2 parking bays at my local super market where I can fit her in simply because it's on the perimeter there's no hedge there. Multi storeys are an absolute no go as are most width restrictions and drive throughs.
Yes it has the third seat row in the back and they face forwards.

Hi Dippydocus,
Welcome to this very helpful site. That is one hell of a machine I’m up in Northamptonshire with a 1950 Rocket 88 but I’ve only had it for about 6 months so I’m still learning. Enjoy your ride!
