Great site
Interest has been renewed in the '66 Cutlass convertible that has been under a car cover in my garage for more years than I care to admit. Impetus was when SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed- from Rumpole of the Bailey) opined that we "really should" get it going again for our 50 year class reunions, both coming in August. Loose translation of "really should" is "don't make me come back there"
Her reunion features a car cruise, and I'll admit that the Cutlass would generate more positive interest than my '48 Hudson.
So got the stuff unpiled off of it, uncovered it, and its really looks pretty good. Then on to a trailer to take to fellow Tenino High School Class of '66 member Louie, who builds hot rods and really gets right after stuff (a nice contrast to me, who really thinks about getting right after stuff, possibly as soon as tomorrow). Took it to him last Sunday afternoon, and he called me at 2 on Monday- "Its running." He's going through the brakes, etc. to get it back on the road. Most surprising thing was that the gas hadn't turned to sludge- he said it smells "varnishy", but is still liquid and tank can be cleaned up with minimal effort (and the Quadrajet still works! Go figger).
I decided to look for a suitable forum for this subject, and found this one. Looks like a great site- lots of activity, including a parts guy in Medford, OR who first posted a parts for sale thread 10 YEARS AGO, and is still answering posts to it, 17,000 post later. Whoever heard of that?
So I'll be looking forward to chatting with you guys (and I presume, gals) as I get back into the Oldsmobile thing. One question- how do you get your list of cars or favorite saying or whatever at the bottom of your post every time?

Here is the answer to your question: User CP (upper right corner by your username) > Settings & Options (left side menu) > Edit Signature
Welcome
Welcome 66 Vert or what do we call YOU? congrats on getting her running at least and welcome to the sight, watch these boys some I suspect are a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket LOL... but they are great guys
Welcome to what I consider to be the best Olds site going! If you can get some pics, please post them so we can see! Interested in the colors (interior, exterior and top) and your future plans with the car (keep original, add modifications, etc.). I'm just up the street from you a ways and I hope to see it at the Centralia meet in late August one of these years!

Nice to hear from everybody.
Rcorrigan, what is the Centralia meet you're referring to? I remember about 15 years ago there was a "South Sound 442" club, that had a get-together at Borst Park every summer. I went a couple of times, then it seemed like the club disbanded and I figured that was that. Is there a new group locally? Would like to hear about it.
And my shout-out about the guy with the 10 years and still running post paid off- he has not one, but 2 hoods! Guess I'll be making a run to Medford.

There is a car club in the Centralia area that holds a "Hub City" car show towards the end of August each year. It usually fills up the street that is the northbound passage through town, plus several side streets. It's a great show.
The South Sound 4-4-2 Club is still active but they have changed the location of their annual show. This year it is Sunday, July 10, at Griot's in Tacoma (take the 38th Street exit and go west for about 5-6 blocks and Griot's will be on the right), from 10AM-2PM. It's a good show as well and, weather permitting, I will be there with my '68 4-4-2.
