Fuel tank and transmission question

Thanks for the tip on the pins and bushings.. I've got another question maybe you more experienced people would know. My 69 cutlass tank appears to have. 2 lines (in addition to the fuel sending unit) coming off the dude.. Any idea what these are? Also, anyone have any idea how I can find out exactly what kind of transmission I have.. I think the guy who sold it to me was wrong..

Not sure what you're asking. There may be one, two, or three fuel lines coming from the tank, depending on year, model, options, and CA/49 State.
Three lines = Out to fuel pump (usually ⅜"), Return from fuel pump (usually 5/16"), and vapor/vent (usually ¼").

There should be one wire coming from the sender.

What's a dude?

Fuel tank

Sorry.. That was just an auto correct.. I meant two lines at the edge of the tank.. I know that the fuel line obviously goes into the fuel sending unit, I'm just not sure what the other 2 lines on the edge of the tank are for.. It's a 69 cutlass supreme

The 2 lines you are probably taking about at the rear of the tank behind the bumper are vent lines. There are 2 hoses that go to a vent.

Little plastic baffles that let air in but keep fuel from sloshing out.

Does anyone know what kind of kickdown the 69 had.. Looks like the transmission is a 400 so I'm not sure that's even original

The kickdown switch would be attatched to the gas pedal and a wire going to the transmission. If it were a T350 then there will be a cable at the carb linkage.

My vent lines on the tank are not behind the bumper, they're facing forward. Firs that matter?

I checked the bolt pattern on my transmission.. (Thanks to the man who forwarded me the link) and mine appears to be a turbo 400. I just looked and it appears the 69 originally came wutg a 350 turbo. Did they have an option for the 400? Just wondering if mine is original or noy
