Thumbs up First post from New Zealand 1969 Olds Cutlass owner

Hi all from New Zealand

I have always favoured the A body cars, and especially the 68/69 Cutlass models. I finally found a nice 69 Cutlass Supreme here in NZ about four years ago and snapped it up. These are definitely a more rare option here in NZ with Chevelles being more readily imported and driven. There is a huge American muscle car following here in NZ but your dollar and the costs of shipping cars and parts makes ownership a lot more difficult and pricier. I almost cry at the comparatively cheap costs of vehicles and parts in the states but it's just the price we pay to have what we want.

My car is pretty stock but has had a 455 and 400 trans transplanted into it previously from a 70/71 I believe. It has been in the country here for over 20 years. I am now just looking at doing some mods to the car (starting with gearing/diff) but will kick off an inquiry about this under that area of the site for some much needed advice and expertise. From brief review of some similar posts about similar issues, I believe that Monzaz and 507olds maybe the gurus for this so would appreciate it someone that knows how to contact them could ask them to review my post under diffs soon. Awesome site and looking to now get more involved now that the war office has given permission to start the 'spend' instead of house renovating for a while. All the best. Todd

You do realize, of course, that New Zealand is the definition of the middle of nowhere.

Let's see some photos of this car.

Welcome to the site, lets see it. I think the price comparison is really a case of supply and demand.

Yep, we are in the middle of nowhere (middle earth) but with all the drama going on around the world, we like our corner of paradise well away from everyone. I have taken a shot of the car so hopefully it uploads ok. If not I will try to follow the directions again. Cheers for the welcome.
