Finally signed up for CO today
I've been lurking for a while and finally signed up. I enjoy the site, and now can view all the pictures of your fine rides.
I grew up in an "Oldsmobile" household and they were generally the only cars my folks ever drove. Our family cars ranged from a '50 88, several '66-79 Toros, countless '70-79 Ninety eights, '64-72 Vista Cruisers, to a string of '65-70 442's. There was even a "police apprehender" '69 Delta coupe that my father ordered when he decided his '68 442 was a "dog".
I restored have two of our family cars that sat in my parent's shed for decades in states of disassembly. In 2000 I decided to put a concerted effort to put the '70 W-30 back together, and did a frame-off resto to factory specs. When it was completed, I did a frame-off on the '66 f85 442 L69. The '66 is far from factory correct since the original engine/trans/rearend all bit the dust by 1972; I put it together with a F-headed 455, M21, and C-brand 12-bolt with 4.11 gears.
My first car was/is a numbers matching '69 W-31 that I bought several years before I had a drivers license; I did a frame-on resto on it that was completed in 1984, and I twist it to 6000 rpm nearly every time I drive it, just to make sure there are no cobwebs forming. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't appreciate these full-throttle blasts, and has only ridden in the car 3 times in 20 years. She is still hoping that it's "just a phase".

It's never just a phase is it? Welcome to CO. I would love to see any pictures of that Police Apprehender. Have heard about those, supposedly the Minnesota State Police used some, probably other agencies as well.

Welcome to CO
Know what you mean, It's hard not to use the entrance lane to the freeway as a means to test the 455, I have the same problem.
Still at it after 40 years she says I am the last of her boys to grow up, guess my three sons passed me.
Lets see those pictures
