Plenty of folks around here where you can get used parts from. Many of us can help with advice. I have a local mechanic who has worked on many Old's over the years.

I've had a few '71 442 Convertibles, my first I restored myself in high school (1975). I have friends that are Certifiable Olds Fanatics. Let me know if I can help.

We have rocket racing just north of the Il. border in cheddar land. They are olds specialists. I have used them and been happy over the years with what I had done. As far and other local engine shops. Opel engineering in streamwood il. is a good place I like their work a lot. For transmissions you have atomic transmission in villa park il. They by far are one of the best shops along with some great techs always willing to pull you into the shop and show you what they are doing., they did for me atleast. Then for differential work there is suburban driveline in villa park. If you are willing to do the work your self plenty of guys in the area can help you out. I build my own stuff so usually I only send out what I cant do.
