Checking in from Colorado

I have been reading up on this forum for a while. I created an account last year but never got around to do an intro.

I currently have a '69 442 that I am probably going to sell (wife has been on me to get rid of some things) soon. It has ~84K original miles on it now and still runs strong. I have had it for a while but have been tormented on keeping in all stock or update a little here and there. I just cannot bring myself to change things on it.

Anyway I hope to be posting more and asking a lot of questions.

Welcome to the site, post some pic's of your car when you get a chance. It's always a tough decision on what to or not do with a car. Good luck.

Why fix it up if you're just going to sell it? Leave that to a new owner. The $$ and parts don't add equal value to the car, and the new owner can also decide what path to follow. Sorry to hear the car has to go.

Then it appears your username is not an accurate reflection of your interest in the hobby.

just asking- are you sure it's not the wife that needs to go?
That does happen.

I have to say I thought the same thing Chris, but I didn't want to suggest that....

Well, I started to get ready to sell it a year or so ago and noticed the vinyl top looked off. I started to look at it and it just started peeling off. I tore it off and thought the car looked bad and did not think I could get as much for it. I then embarked on doing a little work and it turned into a year and a half of fixing little things here and there. The last little thing I need to fix is the starter. I think the solenoid is bad (get the whir, zzzz when starting). I will be putting a new vinyl top on it then it is off for sale.

Yeah it does. She is a good woman and I have too much invested in her.
