Hah, hah....someone is running this site and it indeed does cost something to maintain it properly....and in all the other forums that I belong to such as the Donzi Registry and Offshore Only, a donation is not required but it does make life easier....

Nope
Just went to the thread that I was trying to reply to and it says that I am not authorized, ie have not been authenticated... Supposedly when I registered I was supposed to get an email that I needed to reply to be "authenticated"....I have never gotten such an email.

Good, I just read your post about the '68 ram-rod. Interesting story, so many of us have those 'the one that got away' or 'the one I let go' stories. Hope you can find another some day.

Yep, you are right, lots of folks have those stories....I even have another on top of that one. My dad had a 1961 Olds Starfire convertible, white with red interior and white top...that son of a gun was also a real machine in its time.....he traded it for a new 67 GTO ;-) I am looking for a "driver" 68 Cutlass that looks like the one that I had, not trying to get a Ram Rod....that appears to be near impossible....

$$$$$
That indeed is true....my problem is too many toys...have four boats that are indeed the "hole in the water that you pour money into"....did just get rid of my Harley to make my spouse happy...she never did like the idea of me being out there among the cars on a motorcycle, so as you all know, life is full of compromises, ie "you pick your battles" So, mission is to come up with something usable that resembles my old long lost Ram Rod, ie a convertible that is red and black. Manual is desirable and engine I can deal with as I have in my Donzi...just now dropping a 500 hp 454 in that one....old engine was something over 400 hp, so I should get some additional scoot out of the new one . My boat forums have always been great so I look forward to this one and finding an Olds that works for me...

Winston-Salem, NC....and you are right about the Donzi, mine is a Classic 22 that will run over 75 gps mph and sounds great doing it....only thing in the water is about 3 feet of the hull and the prop
