Canadian Newbie from New Brunswick
Hey guys, love the forum. I am from New Brunswick, Canada and I am proud to say that I officially own a 1970 Cutlass. It is not a real 442 but I like to pretend it is. My father in law has owned it for 35 years until it was passed to me last summer. I never got it on the road until about a month ago after its been sitting for the last 8 years.
The picture is from June last year when I first got it.
Here is some info about the car, not sure on exact specs of the internals but its all upgraded. I'll have to ask my father in law. Here is what I do know.
-350 rocket with 455 heads, flat top pistons, ported and polished, upgraded crank and mild cam.
11:1 compression
-TH350 with shift kit and 3000 stall
-hurst dual-gate shifter
-headers with 2inch pipe to no-name brand mufflers
-600 holley not yet installed to replace 400 quadrajet
-3.55 gears not yet installed to replace 2.73s
Just this past month I got a a bunch of new parts installed, 3 core rad, new bf goodrich tires, new driveshaft, new windshield, brake lines, battery, plugs, hoses and a 100 other little things.
Also have but not yet installed are the 600 holley, 3.55s, new high compression starter and new front disc brakes.
A 2.5 inch exhaust system with flowmaster 40s will be the next upgrade. Hopefully suspension and interior next year.
The engine will need to be pulled this winter as it could use some new rings and front and rear seals, but for now I'm more than happy to drive it the way it is and finally work all the bugs out of it. I'll be sure to take a nice photo shoot with the new tires after its all polished up when I get a chance. Glad to be part of the classic olds family
