I just got my hand on a 72' buick 455 with stage 1 heads and i was wondering how different the motor mount would be compared to the 350 rocket thats in my 1968 olds cutlass supreme right now thanks.

Motor mounts, frame mounts, accessory brackets, starter (it's on the opposite side of the motor), exhaust manifolds and pipes, radiator hoses,....

The only thing the same is the distributor cap.

Welcome to CO. I think the stage 1 heads are desire-able aren't they? Maybe you could sell the Byooik engine for a little profit and we can help you find an Olds engine that would be easier to do? That 350 in your car now has lots of potential unless the block is cracked or something you could re-build it instead.

Or you could use the Buick engine as a boat anchor.

Welcome to the website.

A local guy put a t/a performance prepped 455 in a 65 cutlas he said it dropped in and was not to hard to do? I would think that if you can put a sbc or bbc in or a olds in a t/a it would work isnt buick a lighter 455 than olds?

Weight isn't really the issue, as Joe said there are so many differences you would have to do lots of work to make it work. Not impossible but you need to really consider before making a cross division switch like that. I would say the same to someone who wanted to put a '72 Olds 455 into a '68 Buick A body.

Yes, Buick engine is lighter and that engine gives you wider and higher torque area.
But don't do that, it's always easier keep you Olds always Olds.
How exhauts manifolds/headers fits and etc.
