Thanks

Thanks for the compliment!
I feel very fortunate that I found her at a price I could afford.
she is every bit as beautiful in person as in the photo.
Reflects a lot of TLC for many years.
Not a restoration by any means, just a very well cared for,
slightly improved original.

A very sharp looking car indeed ! Congratulations. The sun shade, fender skirts, and spinner hubcaps dress the car up just enough too ! From the missing hood emblem, I take it the car has been mildly customized. Keep it waxed and clean, reasonably original , and drive it around so others can see it !

Very nice. Love those Oldsmobiles from the 50's. Seems like we don't get many 53's on here. Welcome.

I'm not sure about the originality of the color in this model.. she has been painted (obviously) at some point.. maybe someone else can shed some light on that

I can't tell from your pic whether the top is light gray or white, but Olds did offer a couple shades of gray in '53 that might match your scheme. If the color is original it could be Polar White or Mist Gray top over Pearl Gray bottom paint. Your bottom paint looks metallic, though, and I don't think they offered any metallic paints in '53 - not sure on that. In any event, a beautiful car! One question, though ... where's your rocket hood ornament?

As to the Under appreciated comment... actually I was referring to the price this one drew. I see the prices that '56 Nomads draw.. and '70 Challengers.. etc...but, I aint complainin'!!
