Bonjour à tous
Hi everyone
Before introduce myself, let me talk about her.
back in 2007, i was chilling at my best friend house, I was reading a 2005 classifieds magazine when I saw her. I told myself "let's try" and I gave a call the owner, she was always for sale.
We agred on the price, bought a train ticket and let's go to the heart of Paris, we made the deal in front of the montparnasse train station.
900km after i was home safe, next to the mediterranean sea....with her.
if you had seen the jaws of my friends when I swung the keychain on the counter this night!
Then life did her job...I had my second child, I divorced, I lost my job ... I had to sell my beauty.
Few years later I imported a camino 84, then a c10 84 long bed .... good cars but it was missing something...
Then life did her job twice...
2 months ago, the guy I sold it sends me an email, to find out if it interests me, because he wants to separate....
Yesterday i bought back my beauty...10 years ago after i sold it.
So much memories... get my son to school, make a ride with my dad, burn tires on 1/4 miles, cruisin next to the sea.
Cause my kids are getting older, and cause my dad passed away, i really want to keep this car with us now.
I'am Jean Charles, am 41, and am happy to ride my 65 cutlass.

Hi everyone
The first time i owned her, i started to rebuilt some dents, like the bottom of the door, side panel and the rear window.
Cuz i was young i thougth i was able to do it by myself, then i did it using lead. I didn't want to use bondo.
It wasn't that easy but i fixed the rust.
Now i wanna do it the right way so i'll bring her to a real body shop...;-)

Hi every one
I've tried to find the engine unit numbers this afternoon, but compares to the manual shop pictures, it seems mine is not identified like others. The only numbers i found were on the manifolds.
Could it be possible there is another place to read them?
thks

Hi every one
I found the code on the other side of the heads. Mean they've been off for a valve job.
The number is: T560741H
I cannot find nothing in the restauration guide what means the H.
Is it High compression?

The engine unit number codes are in the Chassis Service Manual. The "T" prefix means it's an F-85 330 motor. The "H" suffix means it is a low compression 4bbl motor for export sale.

Beauty! Cool to get your old "flame" back. One of the prettiest colors and one of the prettiest years. In 1965 our next door neighbor bought a new '65 Dynamic 88 coupe in that color, and I rode in it often. That was THE car that made me an Olds fan forever. Have fun!

thanks
i have to admit that its a typical color for that kind of car, for that area.
insted of crazy flashy colors, is pretty classic, like oldsmobile were.
I will do a repaint job on it, i'll probably chose a clearer blue, like grotto blue from GM

Hi everyone
I've just finish to refresh my cutlass, after almost a year and half of work.
We did a full paintjob and we torn down the engine to make the bay clean.
Cause the original paint was a lilbit sad, i choose a bright blue in the gm 65 colors.
For the engine, gold was the only option for me. We changed all the gaskets, waterpump, timing chain, all the fluids, brake booster, all the front end balljoint, the 4 suspension….almost a brand new car.
I bought 15 smoothie instead of 14 SSII.
Last thing to do is to fix the Rochester and the airfilter,
You'll see below the engine bay before and after
What do you think about it, Worth it isn't?

Looks great Jean Charles! You may want to consider a safety upgrade to front disc brakes sometime in the future. My 1967 442 came from the factory with that option and I really like the stopping power!
