Hello folks, has anyone got an leads for an offside half shaft/bearing and seals for my 1965 Jetstar 88. I'll happily buy both sides if possible. I have a 10 bolt diff.

I live in France, so will have to deal with the shipping costs!!

Many thanks, Bill.

Bill,

"Half shaft" is typically used to refer to the axle shaft on an independent rear suspension (or front suspension in the case of FWD) and include inboard and outboard U-joints or CV joints. If you are referring to the axle shaft, that's a solid piece. As you probably know, J88 rear axles are unique to those cars, as they use an A-body axle but widened to fit the B-body. That makes the axle shafts unique to the J88. If you can't find a good used one, Moser will make a custom shaft to fit. Bearings and seals should be available from Kanter.

Where are you located in France. My wife and I have a small vacation house in La Roque sur Ceze.

Hello Joe, many thanks for your help. Axle shaft is what I need, lost in translation! We live in central Brittany, in the far north west.

I reckon I'll have no chance of finding these parts in Europe, hopefully used parts are available stateside. If not I'll go down the tailor made route.

Kind regards, Bill.

Hi again, does anyone know of a 1965 Jetstar 88 in a breaker's yard?

Many thanks, Bill.

Can anyone point me to an exploded view of the rear hub bearing/oil seal assembly for my 65 Jetstar 88. Couldn't find it on Wild About Cars.

Many thanks, Bill.

Nice car! I learned to drive in my father's 1965 J88.
