Best oil for a 330
I recently picked up a 67 and have been given several recommendations, but none are olds owners. Its a 4 barrel quadrajet with no other mods and is located in the mid Atlantic. Thanks in advance for such basic a basic question.

Oil is oil is oil is oil is oil for these cars. What does the owner's manual call for? Probably 10W30 or 10W40. I have been putting in whatever's on sale at the local Autozone of 10W30 or 10W40 ever since I bought my first collector car, which happened to be a '64 Jetstar 88 WITH a 330 engine, in 1991. Through thick and thin, car after car, year after year, the centuries come and go, and it's been 10W30 or 10W40. Not synthetic. Not usually the "high mileage" versions now offered. NEVER a problem in almost 30 years of doing this with five different old Oldsmobiles.
Old car owners overthink many things. I think one of the most overthought things is oil. Of course the manufacturers of the synthetics or the specialty oils or the high mileage oils want you to think that you need this stuff because the car has become old and feeble and has become more delicate. But the real reason is that it costs more and they make more money. You'll never go wrong putting in what the owner's manual says, and for a 330, it says in the owner's manual for my '67 Delta 88, which is the same owner's manual as for the Delmont 88 that year whose base engine was the 330, to use 10W30. That's what I'd use.
