Best manual to buy?

Hello everyone. I want to buy a repair manual for my 70 Cutlass S. What are your thoughts on the best one to get? I noticed that a few on here swear by the Chassis service manual. Is that the best way to go? I found a set on Ebay for $55. Should I go for these? Or is a Clymer or a Chilton better? Thanks everyone.

There is no better repair manual for your car than the one the factory supplied. It's the same one the dealership mechanics used.

CSM is awesome! You will want to get the Fisher Body manual also.

Compared to a factory manual the others are worthless.

"This is a reproduction of the manual that Olds mechanics used to service your car."

You don't want this one.

This one has both an original CSM and a repro AM, but it's a bit pricey at $90.

1970 is a particularly popular year, so you may not be able to get a much better price without really searching.
My 1973 CSM was $8 shipped because nobody likes '73s.

Thanks so much for all the responses. I made an offer on the auction that MDchanic supplied in his post. Thanks again all!

For mechanical repairs the Factory Service Manual is the best. If you want to know how to take something apart or correctly together on the chassis, dash, or in the engine compartment I use the Factory Assembly Manual.

The one I use the least is the Fisher Body Manual. It's good for glass and convertible top issues.

I purchased the combo of the CSM and the Assembly Manual on EBay. I should have it by the end of the week. Thanks again so much for all the responses!
