automatic braking

I have a 1957 olds s88 with a power brake problem.
problem is brakes come on by them selves and keep tightening as i roll along to the point that the car will not move until every thing has cooled down. Brake system is bendix power, system was completely rebuilt.Any idea of what my problem is?

Check the routing of your brake lines. Sounds like something is to close to a heat source. Did you do an engine change? Check around your exhaust sys, being to close to a brake line.

I had a similar problem with my 63 and the booster was leaking and the vacuum was pulling the pedal down

i had this problem on a 62 dynamic 88 and it was the rod between the master cylinder and power brake booster was adjusted to tight. the brakes would not completely release because the piston in the master cylinder was not coming back far enough. as the brakes got hot it would just amplify the problem because any expansion of the fluid was not getting back into the reservoir. i adjusted the rod a little shorter and it fixed the problem on my situation.
