Another Ohio newbie

Hello forum,

I am considering purchasing a 1963 F-85 convertible. I have a few questions about the car if anyone would be kind enough to respond.

My first concern is the seat. How difficult is it to move the front seat rail back a few inches? I see where it bolts in 4-places but need it moved back to accommodate height. I don’t plan to show the car, strictly a driver

My second concern is parts. The car is in running condition, and needs little. I do plan over time to do some cosmetic things, paint, chrome, beef up the engine a little etc. I have read that parts are hard to come by for this model and my thought is I may want to look for a more popular model (64 and up) because of the parts. I plan on getting a cutlass since it was my 1st car, but have not really decided on model/year yet

Thoughts? Any input is appreciated.

Another Buckeye! I do believe we're catching up with the Texans, LOL!! Welcome to our site!! I say if you have the chance to buy an Olds, buy it!! Especially since you say she doesn't need much. Parts are hard to find for all of them, but where there's a will, there's a way!! We manage to find them. Just takes a little time!

Some of the knowledgable guys will chime in eventually and answer your questions.

Welcome to CO. Not sure about the seat mounting but I sure someone with a service manual will answer. If not, you may want to re-post your question in another forum. Some people don't read this new members forum.
