Thumbs up Another Newbie Old as Dirt

Hey Guys, Another newbie old as dirt. Great to find this place/blog
Luvs it us duz.! Luv The Wiki too. Recently acquired a 1971 Cutlass Supreme Conv. after bargaining like a typical old car guy, needs some attention/parts/love. I call it The Beast and its a handfull alright. Slightly Hotrodded 350 and a steering column like a tiller.. Recently retired and lookin for some fun/project. This one definately qualified. Almost feeling adolescent again, Well, Maybe not, but havin fun in the sun fightin the rust in the WD40 wars. Original South Bay/LA boy but up near Portland in the beautifull Northwest now. Need some new or rechroming on bumpers, lots of small parts/advice and a shoulder to bitch at when things get weary, Oh Well, here we go again!! No URL for images at the moment (how do dat?) how do yu upload pics from ur computer??

Old enough to remember when dirt looked like NEW FOOD!

Welcome to CO Dave. I owned a '71 Cutlass once and really enjoyed it but had to sell it when I went overseas. Sometimes I wonder where it is now.

Tracking Survivors

Hi back at Ya, Did anyone ever consider tracking the survivors down via VIN codes? The numbers must have be wittled down to a LOT fewer than were made by now. State DMV data banks and the original GM run numbers might just give a clue or two.? Be kinda interesting to know as they getting into historic status and the costs and collecting status goes up. Or do you guys already have that on this site somewhere.? Might lead you down trails where you can track your old car to newer owners and see if it was restored or trashed.!

So whats the deal on pics?

When you hit the "post reply" button this here window opens that I write my comments in. If you scroll down below that box you will see a " manage attachments " button. Click on that then click on "browse" this will enable you to open pics from your computer. Once you have the pic opened do not forget to hit the "upload". In a few seconds it loads the pic as an attachment that you can see when you "preview post"
Good Luck

Talking Welcome to the site

Hey Dave,

Some of us were around pre-dirt when we only had rocks to eat. Lots of second childhood Olds guys here and we all share the same love for old-Olds. Lots of great information as well.

Still waiting for those pictures

Pat

MODERATORS take note!!! I suggest (If I didn't before I am now) we start a "Lost & Found" category. One for lost, one for found. Possible find an old lost car, or match up old paperwork to a present owner. Lots of potential!

And welcome Dave!

Jamesbo???

Where do you keep getting pics of my family? First my mom, now I could swear that's cousin Marty! Even has his arms crossed like when he's pretending to think. Dan??? You and I must be related somehow!!!

Glad to see that you're able to help everyone out with the pics stuff. Keep up the great work!

Smile Nice

Wow there are 5 really nice pics of your convertible and one of some old grey haired dude kidding just kidding I have 2 brother's and a sister that live in the NW above you a little on Vancouver Island. My mom was born in Washington state and I have travelled from B.C. to Mexico down the coast. My oldest brother lives in Sun City CA and I have a buddy in Bakersfield , but I love the NW just cause it is so much greener and lush , plus the fresh clean air is nice. I live on the other coast and here is really green plus the air is clean , clean. You will need to find someone who can tell you how to post pics in the gallery cause I have not figured that out yet. i use flickr , it's free and you can put tons of photos then just post a link http://www.flickr.com/photos/wolfman98/
