Alpharetta GA Noob

New to the Classic Oldsmobile site. I've been on the Olds Power site for a while. When I was in High School here in Atlanta I bought a triple white 1969 Cutlass S Convertible in 1975. I sold it in 1987. Currently I have a 1972 Cutlass S Coupe that I bought in January 2006. It was a documented 83,000 mile survivor car I bought from a 90 year old man that had owned it since 1975. For about the last 10 years he owned it it sat in his driveway under a tarp. We put in a new battery, fresh gas, cleaned and filed the points and it fired right up. I fixed it up enough to drive it on weekends until I started a frame off restoration in our garage in November 2007. Right now the car is almost done. I'm finishing the interior right now and some other minor stuff.

I have the entire restoration to date posted on Olds Power.

Here are before and after pics:

Sandy,

You obviously need a geography lesson. De Big Chicken is in May retta. We're talking All fretter ere. Different hemispheres in Hot lanta. John's Crick is whar de rich folks live.

Olds 350 If you werk at the Ferrari place you know my bride. She 6' tall and locks her keys in her Jag [used to til we sold it] at the gas station across the street from you EVERY day on her way to werk.

Do you know Charlie and Randy at Peach State Classics down the road on Hembree just behind Sterling Body works? Nice guys.

I used to know a guy assocaited with the old FAF [Ferrari, Alpha, Fiat] way back when they were out in Tucker.

Next time I drive by Ferrari Atlanta I'll look fer your Olds in de lot. [Next to the ole beat up Testarossas ya'll got fer sale]

Unfortunately I don't think know Charlie and Randy but I've heard the names.

I'm not driving the Cutlass to work yet, at least until the interior gets completed. But you might see my Phantom Black '05 GTO.

I'm probably going to do Caffeine and Octane this Sunday AM with the GOAT. I'll start showing the Cutlass in a couple of months when it's more complete.

'05 GTO Poncho fer shure; no '65...although I'd love to have one of dem too. Looky at this pic: 3 Real GTO's! $900,000.00 worth just on the two ones on the outside...de middle one was $34,000 new. I couldn't resist doing the pic.

I'll pass on dem liverz fer lunch. Come on by we'll give you da .05 tour of the store.

Oops!! My bad Jamesbo. I forgot it was in Marietta. I see OldsR350 doesn't quite have your accent yet, lol! You and those fried chicken livers.... yuck!

Those are GTO's in the above picture?? They don't look like GTO's to me! Redgoat's GTO is be-u-ti-ful!!! It looks like a GTO. I sure do miss him - wonder where he is??

Mawn'in all

Well,

Looks like I gots to educate ever one dis mawn'in. Ya'll need to eat chicken livers to smarten up your brain cells.

OldsR350,

"Red goat" is our ole friend "BlueVista " alter ego. He lives up thar near Sandy in de part of the world whar ever one can spell Zamboni wit out look'in it up.

His young 'un fix'in to down load a baby and he didn't want to buy Cigars fer all his Olds buds so he retired from de board. I really do miss him. He's a GREAT GUY.

I go buy your shop all de time but when I pull in de lot de salesmen don't rush out to sell me a Fazazz. Must be my 4 X 4 Cheby truck covered in Gawga red clay dats dis qualifies me as a good candidate.

One day, I may try to fake 'em out and wear my "Magnun" shirt and see if I can talk one of your techs into beleiv'in the 308 GTS i in de shop is mine.

Or Maybe, I'll put on a Braves Jacket and pretend to be a pitcher, Dat way de salemens may pay be mor attention to dis poor ole Cracker.

If'in ya see a white and blue Vista Cruiser go'in down All-fretta Hwy dat has a Tiger tail on de gas cap..................... wave cause it's me.

Since ya don't like chicken livers, We could go round de corner and brake bread at Mambo's cafe and chow down on sum of der wonderful Ropa Vieja.

De 5 cent tour of your shop is 'bout all I could afford at your place. and den only if ya'll gots a Lay-a-way plan.

Sandy,

IMHO Dem ain't real GTO's in de pic. If'in Enzo himself didn't personally walk down de assembly line and bless dem. De jes ain't de same to me. Maybe de one in de middle is, I can't tell fer sho. If I bermemer correctly, a Real GTO gots plastic winders

To me dis pic is a real GTO But What de heck do I know? It is "Righty tighty, Right?

Jamesbo, If you happen to come by the store ask for Kevin Connors, I'm the Service Manager. We'll redeem your free .05 tour; no lay away needed...we do have a GTO that lives at the store other than mine, our owner has a 1985 288 GTO I'll be glad to show you. It has glass windows though

We have been to Mambo's Cafe a few times. Good stuff.

If you go on Olds Power, I use the same "handle" there and you can search for my '72 Cutlass restoration thread. It's called "I finally started the restoration on the '72"
