adding 455 big block to my '72 cutlass "S"

adding 455 big block to my '72 cutlass "S"

72 was factory with Olds 350. I purchased with sm. blk chevy. i would like to put 455 Olds in place of sm. blk chevy. any thoughts as to the difficulty,parts needed, etc. I am new at this, thusly my questions.

Which trans is in the car, you are going to need a Buick, Olds, or Pontiac trans to make it work.

You are also going to need frame brackets and motor mounts for an Olds.

Some minor wiring changes will be required also.

You will also need all the accessory brackets for the 455.

Other than that, pretty simple.

Depending on the radiator you may need a bigger one. Don't worry about it until you have the new motor running and determine how well it cools.

you may also want to install a posi rear and increase your tire budget.

My guess would be that the original wiring is all hacked up anyway so it may be a good time to just replace the harness with a new one. They really aren't all that expensive and in the grand scheme of things it makes that car all that much safer.
