74 omega
74 omega
hello everyone. I have owned 4 oldsmobile's in the past all cutlass's ranging from early 70's to mid 80's. Haven't owned one for probably fifteen yrs. now but have always been a huge olds fan. I have found a 74 Omega coupe that i can pick up for less than 1k. The body and chrome are in good shape, no body work and just a little rust on rear qtr. panel and needs a paint job interior is kinda rough. It has the original 350 with less than 5k miles on a rebuild. I know very little about these cars. So I was just wanting some opinions is this car worth putting a little money into . what do you guys think?
X3 with the guys here, I like the omega as well, Arc the rear leaf springs a bit add some load leveler shocks in the rear, throw on some nice 60's on the back . Those cars look awesome with lots of definition and most likely has a posi rear from factory. Post some pics if you purchase it as Eric mentioned.
As you may know, the Omega is just Oldsmobile's version of the Chevy Nova. Kinda cool in that you rarely see them anymore. The first gen 73-74 cars are different from the 75-79 cars and little interchanges between the generations. I particularly like the hatchback versions. The first gen cars came with a 350 Olds motor. Good luck, sounds like a deal.
