73 Omega Owner

Hello. My name is Brian and I own a 1973 Omega. I look forward to picking your brains on anything and everything Oldsmobile related. I have recently started back at college after a 10 year absence. I am going to rebuild my Olds 350 in a engine overhaul class and if there is anything that anyone could help with on my build I will greatly appreciate your help. The motor is stock and want to upgrade for some street/strip performance.

Thanks.

Brain, if you are rebuilding an engine in an overhaul class make sure you keep it CLEAN! I did the same with an engine years ago and eventhough the work bays we had at the school were large it was hard to keep everything clean since there were so many engines being rebuilt at once.

Welcome to our site. Keep us posted on your project.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am trying to keep the motor with the car. The car means alot to my daughter and myself. I bought the car from my buddies dad who was the original owner. I still have all the original paperwork from when it came off the showroom floor.

Welcome to the site! Cool, that you have the paperwork still. Not many cars have that paper trail still with them John

Brain, also try to keep your motivation up by doing something with the engine EVERY day, even if it is something little like removing the valve covers or cleaning the oil pan. It was hard enough for me to find lab time to rebuild my engine when I was a full-time college student. I imagine it would be that much more difficult being a father and a student.

I am trying to keep everything organized as possible. I am also organizing my time between school and spending time with my daughter. I am currently not sure what performance parts to use for the motor. I am trying to research when I have extra time.
