Welcome to the site. (Tonyspeak)

The stock answer to the manual question is to get the GM chassis Service manual, what the dealer mechanics used.
You can find them on evilbay and at auto literature places.
Another good one to have is the Fisher Body manual.
The Assembly Manual is also a good resource but not sure if you can get that, the sleeping Omega guys will know about that and parts.

Hey welcome to CO! I owned a '75 Omega for a little while a few years ago only it had the ch*vy six cylinder in it. That was a nice car except for the engine which had too little ooomph.

Talking Welcome to CO

The Omega will make a nice ride for your son. There are a number of Omega owners on the site that can help with your questions. As said above the service manuals are important for doing your own work.

Is the tranny a three speed or four speed?
In the 60's and 70's Oldsmobiles that had three-in-the-tree set ups, were Ford truck transmission.
Does it have a Hurst shifter? Does your body style have the rare , pop-up tent? (Pontiac Aztek has this option as well).

Glad to see other Omega owners on here...I bought my service manual on Ebay for about $15 a few years ago....they come up now and then.

Toro; Any hatchbacks could have the Olds Mini Camper. it was a dealer part/option for any hatchback. I also do not believe you could have a floor shift that is a standard in the omega, three on the tree is the only standard one listed in my service book. But I have been wrong more than once....
