72 Cutlass Convertible - Newbie
72 Cutlass Supreme Convertible owner. I am the second owner and have had for the past 22 years and it runs like a champ. Just under 95 K original miles. The interior area is in great shape and I have maintained and repaired over the years. Finally, I am in the process of having it repainted and it should be done in a couple more weeks - Matador Red (original color). Paint is not too bad (good 10' looker) as the previous owner had someone repaint at some point (rather poorly), but figured might as well bring it back to its prime and enjoy it now before I get too much older! Finally enrolled as a member!
Currently, I have SSI 15x7 wheels (they are a bit worn as well, unfortunately) with 225/70R15 tires. I am going to get new SSI 15x8 wheels and put on BFG 235/60R15's to compliment the new paint job as well.
Will I run into any issues with the 15x8 wheels on a 72 Cutlass or otherwise? Don't think so, but figured it would be safe to ask the Classic Olds Experts.
Also, what are your thoughts on the 235/60R15 instead of the 225/70R15 tires?
Thanks!

Welcome aboard.
I think the 235-60s are way too short for use on the rear. Back in the 80s I had those on front and 255-60s on the rear and liked the setup, other than not being able to rotate the tires. I have since moved to 245-60s all around and am happy with them. Out of the two tire sizes you posted, I would go with the 225-70s over the 235-60s.
Here's a pic of my car with the 245-60-15s all around.
