Power steering is a very good idea. with the way they set up the parking spaces any more you need to make a couple try's at getting in.
The disc brake is a good idea also. easy to do, even if you make them manual disc brakes it is still an improvement. As I see it a real '70 W-30, 4 speed had manual disc brakes, so it should be no problem.

Not to argue with you but I am positive I have seen the door side impact beams in 1970 cutlasses as well as '71-'72 cars that I'm sure were original doors.

You are correct. I mentioned above that I've seen them on 72s. I was certain that I've seen the beams in 1971 doors also, and just confirmed that the doors on my 71 parts car do have beams. I haven't had the doors on my 70 apart for a while, but the factory brochure specifically mentions side guard beams (except Toronado). In any case, this tread is about a 1969, which does not have them - and they are not mentioned in any of the 1969 model year literature.
