'66Toro best source for parts

A '66 Toronado was just added to the collection of cars and bikes I care for. The car is mostly done, restoration wise. I am finishing up a few issues with the dash and instrument cluster. Where can I find parts? Looking for instrument panel surround, the fiberglass is cracked in multiple places and has been previously repaired. Would also be very interested in a really nice instrument panel, or a restored one.
Having a blast (re) learning the ropes of 60's construction, it's been a long time since I let my own '66 F-85 go... and I was just a kid then.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

Tony

More about "new user". Located on Long Island in New York. Collection is mostly German/Italian but is growing to include classic American cars.

Good luck finding parts for these cars that are in good to great condition. When you find a place, pm me will you? I need some stuff too. Like the chrome around the tailights.

I'm sure the Toro owners will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure the Toronados fall into the not-a-Cutlass category as far as aftermarket reproduction of body, trim, and interior parts, meaning no one makes them as there just isn't a large enough market to support such a thing. Instrument panels, headlight surrounds, and things like this will have to come from donor cars. Certainly a post of a list of what you need, being as specific as possible, and possibly including photos, in the "parts wanted" section can't hurt. There are people on this site with parts cars who might be able to help.

Put 66 Toro in the Googler...Fusick has the more common parts. Rare Parts and Obsolete Parts dot com may have some parts as well.

In addition to my Toronado I also have a 68 El Camino. I as SO surprised how easy parts are to get. 180 degrees difference from the Toronado. I dont even bother on stocking up on anything. Unless you really want NOS for a show car (which mine is not), everything is just available. Rebuilding a Chevelle, Corvette, Camaro or Mustang et al is WAY different than rebuilding a Toronado. Its the difference between opening a catalog and getting boxes at your door vs begging, borrowing, stealing or making

The good side of that is you wont need to worry about putting repro chineasium parts on the olds. The chevy you will. There is an individual somewhere that has a yard full of 66-72s. I will dig hard for the contact info. Ive had luck looking up boneyards in the south, south west and west with other one off vehicles.
