63 F-85 Cutlass coupe
63 F-85 Cutlass coupe
Hello everyone; I'm looking for friends and think I found the right place.
I just bought a 63 Olds Cutlass coupe in pretty good shape. It needs a little love here and there, but it has a near perfect interior and a smooth engine/tranny. What it needs is a bit of bodywork and some random parts, (misc.emblems, AC ductwork, tires, etc.)
I had a 63 Jetstar 1, 20 yrs ago which I should have never sold! I slap myself in the face every time I think of it.
Anyway, I've wanted another Olds ever since and subsequently found this 63 Cutlass about a month ago. The price was right, so boom, here I am.

I stand corrected, Thank you. I cant believe I had the wrong year this whole time.
(And I even wondered why my old 63 Olds service manual didnt include a Jetstar?)
Anyway, I'm certain that my Cutlass is a 63, (although i did double check).
Pictures are en route.

Welcome. The 61-63 Cutlass cars seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately, possibly because they are a lot more affordable than the 64-72 cars. You may be aware that parts for the 61-63 cars are relatively difficult to come by, and your 63 has a lot of one-year-only items like the steering linkage and sheetmetal. Kanter has the suspension and brake parts (though you can find a lot at NAPA if you know where to look). Engine parts are pretty easy since the 215 was built by Rover for four decades. The Rotohydramatic 5 trans is not GM's best and was only used in these cars. Nothing else swaps in easily. The rear axle is also unique to the 61-63 F-85 and Skylark lines. They are cool, unusual cars but don't expect to find parts easily.
