'57 Super 88 owner from Germany
Hello All
First post from this new member. I am Stefan from Heidelberg, Germany. I just bough this 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 Sedan. I am the second owner in Germany and the car is believed to have had two owners in the States but that cannot be verified. The body and frame are in exceptional shape. It has never been welded and doesn't need any frame or body work which I find amazing since it is not from a dry state but from Washington State.. It has been repainted in it's original color. That was years ago by a professional shop and it still looks good today. No bonds/body filler on the car. I have checked with a small magnet. The interior has been redone using same as stock fabrics (blue) and looks great. Everything works (except for the clock). The 371cu engine is smooth and powerful and the Jetaway shifts smoothly. I have found the idler arm with some play so I guess that will need fixing soon. Otherwise there doesn't seem to be anything that requires immediate attention. However, I do have some questions which I will post in the appropriate sections. I am looking forward to "meeting" many of you.
Greetings from Germany
Stefan

No need to say Sorry, that is what the Newbie Section is for. Yes, I fly Helicopters for a living. Its a great day when you can go fly an aircraft and then drive home in an Oldsmobile Rocket.
