55 Olds 88 Central Coast California

Hey there i recently bought my first Olds a couple weeks back. Its a 55 4 door 88. The guy I bought it from said the original owner was some Vegas casino owner back in the day, and it was in some movie I cant remember the name. Kinda some cool history if its true. Anyways look forward to going through the posts to learn as much about these things as I can.

Welcome, I was just looking at the car and wondering two or four door. Looks like the handle is gone on the rear door?
Should look nice all cleaned up!

You have a better eye than I do. I should have recognized the vent windows on the back doors.

People will say anything to sell a car. Any evidence of repaired bullet holes in the side?

I plan on restoring the car as best I can with few minor changes here and there. I did upgrade the wipers to electric and re wired the whole car already. I looked up the original paint code and it was caspian cream and Juneau grey, I haven't been able to find any in this color combo to see if I will go back to it or not. One of the previous owners shaved the rear door handles. If I can find the handles cheap enough I will probably change them back, if not it doesn't look too bad and at first glance it kinda confuses people. As for now it's gonna be my driver while I accumulate parts and save some money for the restoration.

Welcome, There are some pictures of a couple of '55's with Black and Caspian listed if you Google 1955 Oldsmobile Images. The Juneau gray was usually two toned with Polar white. That was a fairly common color combo in the 98 series. Larry
