1st OLDS 1967 CUTLASS SUPREME CONVERTIBLE

I just picked up a 1967 Olds Cutlass Supreme Convertible. I am trying to figure out the body tag. Any help would be appreciated. I have most of it figured out just a few questions. 1. the trim says 978-B (978 is yellow, what is the B?) 2. Paint says Y-8 (Saffron is the Y, but what color is the 8? I am guessing that is the convertible top color?) 3. accessory codes 2XG 5Y(the 2XG is on top of the 5Y with the 2 directly above the Y, if that makes a difference). I did see someone quested 5VY as deluxe seat belts this car does have deluxe seatbelts. Yellow with Yellow interior and a white top(top is newer) The car was made in Lansing. 2nd week in February #2936 off the line. Thanks

Welcome to the site, very nice, and love that color. I'll let some of the other guys help you with data tag decode.

The color "8" is the convertible top color, which is yellow. 978 is the interior color, which is yellow. B must be some sort of option code (bucket seats?). The other codes I don't have but others here do and they will let you know.

It does have buckets. 330 with a 2 speed auto. Suppose to be matching numbers but I am not sure how to tell yet.

On a Cutlass Supreme 5V would be a 442. 5Y would be a Cutlass with Deluxe seatbelts. 5VY would be a 442 with Deluxe seatbelts.

Triple yellow car. VERY cool. The newer white top is because the yellow material can be hard to get.

The cowl tag codes are kind of different to figure some times. But, 2xg means= 2- second section of options, x- 2 spd automatic transmission ST-300 commonly called a jetaway, G-means console.

Hope this helps

67 Olds 442 convertible paint code question

On the Cowl it says "P-2".

I know the P is pewter. What is the '2' stand for?

978-B : 978=Cutlass Supreme yellow interior & B=STRATO bucket seats
Y-8 : Y=saffron body paint & 8=yellow convertible top
2XG : Group 2 - X=2-speed automatic & G=sport console
5Y : Group 5 - Y=deluxe seat belts
02B : 2nd week in February
2936 : 2,936th Cutlass Supreme convertible body (33867) at Lansing (since start of '67 production)

they made the yellow interior with "tan" accents/upper dash "early" VS. "black" accents/upper dash "late"

I have a "02A" Fremont built CS with the yellow/tan interior ..... is your car's also yellow/tan?
