1987 Olds Cutlass Tranny Question

1987 Olds Cutlass Tranny Question

from the title you can prob figure out what i have it has a 200c 3 speed in it but the guy i bought it off of put a 3.73 Posi rear in it with is cool for burnouts . but my car is screaming 4500 rpms at 55 mph i really dont want to change the rear even though it would be the easyst thing to do i was wondering what tranny will bolt in that is a 4 speed like maybe a 200 r4 or somthing along those lines. please help because my job requires driving and i really dont want to put my motor through premature ware. any feed back will be helpfull. thanks in advanced

Yes the 200R4 is the overdrive that bolts up to Olds engines. You will need the driveshaft and crossmember also for the 200R4.

You might also consider a Gear Vendors overdrive unit. However, I don't know if they make one for the 200 transmission.
