1971 442

Hello all. Have been a member for a week or so and just getting around to posting. Have just embarked on my latest project and I am sure I will need you guys to lean on for info. Just found and purchased a very nice 71' 442,455, with original W25 hood, standard shifter console auto TH400, 12 bolt, orig paint (49) and interior (light green), 14"rallyes. This car is absolutely SOLID. Interior is original and so nice that the package tray still looks new. Trunk pan is immaculate as are floors frame and rockers. The rear wheel wells are going to need about 1.5" of new metal around the outer edge along with some minor dent repairs before paint. The only downside I can see is that somewhere along the line the 71' 455 was swapped out for a 70' BUT it runs really well and has the correct 1970 date coded Q jet , intake, E heads and the block #'s match so it may have been put in back in the day. Anyway hello again and I will get pics together this weekend to post and keep progress reports posted also. Oh I forgot one thing, it's a Lansing built car

Yup code 49 Antique Jade.
I saw a 71 442 4spd. that was code 49 and needed resto online some years ago in an add. The car was in CT an advertised for 10K. I remember wishing I could buy it because it looked like an all orig. car. The car I looked at was pretty rough under the hood. It had a green interior with no console but it had a 4spd. I wonder if you have that car? Lets see some pix.
