1970 Cutlass Owner from Las Vegas

Hi! I just joined the forum after buying a 1970 Olds Cutlass on Monday. Interior and Exterior are almost finished but under the hood needs work. Oh, and I'm in Las Vegas.

Sweet Ride, what size wheels are those? The CO family is full of information and a great cast of characters-welcome aboard.

Welcome to our site! I like the color, but not the wheels ..... I take it you don't want to keep her original? The DVD player needs to go!

I bought it as is on Monday, have not done anything yet. They are 22" rims. The DVD is def going....looking for something to replace it, if anyone has ideas. I love the color too and i like the rims as impractical and non-original as they are. For now they stay....((please dont hate me ))

I never said welcome, Welcome.

The car looks really nice, some good work there.
My Vista Cruiser will be pretty close to that color, maybe a little darker.

Don't worry justagirl, justaSandy/cutlassgal could never hate anybody but the deer who eat her flower bulbs.

That's right!!!! I do hate the deer... I would never hate an Olds owner! You need to find a radio to put where the dvd player is. That's what was originally in that spot.

if the dash has been cut then just about any new type radio will work. if it has not been cut look at www.casmfg.com . Custom Autosound makes a lot of radios with all the bells and whistles that fit the original dash. I think there are a couple others that make radios for the stock dash also.

Just out of curiosity what made you want the Cutlass. I see young people and even a few girls into olds cars but its usually because they grew up in a car family and dad or a boyfriend is there to help. Judging from your other posts it looks like you are on your own in this deal. So what got you to this point?

gotta look tomorrow at the radio. I actually had a 72 Chevy in high school that I bought at a police auction for $1000 and my boyfriend and I fixed up and sold for $26,000 a few years ago. Ever since I've been wanting an old school. I went to find a Chevelle 454 early 70's or a Nova but I found this for a deal I couldn't say no to.

Since the wheels and tires and digital dash were probably 7K alone I will say he had 20K in it assuming the paint and int was farmed out.

Wow - I couldn't say no to a deal like that, either! Welcome to the site!
I do like that color - very sharp. While I do prefer original style wheels, but yours fit well and ride height was not severly altered.

I am glad to see people expressing interest in Olds, even more for young folks, and even more for ladies who do not mind getting their hands dirty and learning the the history, mechanicals, and electricals.

You will have plenty of help on this forum, and be sure to take advantage of the search function, to find answers fast! You ARE in the right place.
