The Chevy HEI isn't even close to working in an Olds 330; too long or tall and spins in the wrong/opposite direction. There are some real inexpensive Olds HEIs on eBay all the time. They are ready to drop in and run and usually are around $60.00. You will need to purchase a new set of ignition wires, also---they are usually avaiable for about $30.00. Why do you think you need one? Your problem might be something we all can help you with providing we have some more info.
I dont need it for it to run. when I got the car the kid told me it needed a timing chain but i had it running a few after i got it home he messed up the timing and just needed the points adjusted he had them all the way closed I just have some chev 350 hei laying around so I figured if they fit I would put one in So any olds hei will fit or do I need a certin one ?
Thanks for all the help it was great hearing the positive feed back I been An olds lover since I can remeber never thought I would own one again after the x wife made me sell my 72 olds cutlas. my current sweat heart bought this beauty for me!!!
Welcome. To expand on some of the other posts, there is virtually NOTHING that interchanges between a Chevy and an Olds motor. They are completely different designs with completely different castings, internal dimensions, etc. About the only parts that do interchange are the distributor cap and rotor.
