1960 dynamic 88 holiday

Gday. I'm the proud owner of the title vehicle. The old girl is a bit rough but she's all there. My problem is sourcing parts as I live in Perth, Western Australia. Rockauto is who I'm using but I need a speedometer cable and can't find one for love nor money. Help me Obewan? You're my only hope!

A speedometer cable will likely have to come from a donor car. You should post in the "parts wanted" section. Someone on here might have one or have a lead.

That's an easy to find part. Fusick has them for $38.50 new.

Do you need the whole cable, or can you just change the core?

The cores are pretty much universal. Cut to fit.

So they do! I never would have thought that. They don't have them for the later cars. At least, not in their '61 to '77 big car catalog.

So say buy a 120" cable and stuff it in my cable casing? Yup, it's just missing the guts. I unscrewed it from the box the other day to find it hollow. I was happy because I still hold hope I'll see this floating ribbon thingy. She looks like a genuine 64k on the clock. I started her the other day after a thorough once over. First time since 96' by the last California rego. I've found one of two blokes in the city who have worked on the jetway in Perth. They're both retired but cash wakes those weary bones. I'll post pics when I work out how.

I'll buy one from fusik as well. Cheers for that. Next, front suspension bushes and dust boots? Complete set. Hers a good bushes, no slop but the dust boots have perished and some are cactus. If I'm going to pull it apart to replace the boots, I may as well do the bushes.

Welcome to CO Bunga! Fusick's is one of the best sources for new parts and the members on this site are a great resource for used ones. Between the two, we should have you covered.

Much appreciated for all the help. I'll work on some pics in the next few hours. She's rough around the edges but it's sex on tyres to me. The jetway hydramatic is booked for a total rebuild in the new year. The retired specialist loves playing with these old girls.

Bugger all rust in her too. I can't even bring myself to wash the dust off her. She drives like a dream while the hydramatic has fluid in it.

Looks beautiful.

I can't help but notice that the boxes on the left are labeled "yellow." Yellow what?

A twisted bunch. I like it. I could tell you what the yellow boxes contain but then I'd have to stuff you in the boot and drive you to a desolate location.
It'll be two weeks till I finish work and go home to play with Christine. Gives me plenty of opportunity to buy stuff from your world and send it to my world. Stupid Xmas better not slow my post down or there'll be he'll to pay.

Can't wait to get home. Santa has sent Christine a carpet, 2 tail light lenses, a water pump rebuild kit, a power steering pump rebuild kit, a speedo cable and some other shiny baubles and bling. Won't be long before she's my everyday driver.

I love your '60. Looks like a nice old original California car. I'd say, just paint it and enjoy driving it.

She is a Cali car. Still has the jack and vanity mirror. I'm focusing on getting her as my daily runner first. I'm not fussed about cosmetics so she'll stay ratty for a while. I do love how she turns heads though.
