1950 Oldsmobile 98 Holyday Hard Top Deluxe in France !!!!

Hi everybody,

My name is Nicolas. I live in Lyon, 3rd largest city in France. I belong to a car club called 'The Vonstripers'.

In the club we have :
- Hot Rod Ford 31 coupe
- Lincoln 2 doors coupe 1958 and also a convertible from the same year.
- Model A coupe 1930 full stock in great condition
- 2 shoebox 49 and 50
- My Olds 50
- Chevy pick up C10 1966
- Chrysler woody sedan
- Currently building a Slingshot Nostalgia

My baby is a 1950 Oldsmobile 98 Holyday Hard Top Deluxe.

My car is in great condition.

She's in France since 1950.

She needs some light maintenance, just changed the voltage regulator, I will change some silent blocks this week end...

I will drop it 3 inches, install a Stromberg 97, change the tires to 4 1/4' white wall and if I have enough cash, I will do also the upholstery and a new paint job.

For the moment, I'm searching for the upper lip on the gront grille. This is really hard to find. If anyone can help me, this would be great !

Nice week end to you all !

NiCO

Nicolas: Welcome to CO! What a fantastic '50 98 DeLuxe Hardtop. I had one in the '50's, my 3rd car, and it was a runner for such a big car. Extremely rare car, in case you didn't know. According to Helen Jones Earley and James R. Walkinshaw's outstanding book Setting The Pace, there were only 7946 1950 Series 98 DeLuxe Holiday Clupes made (only 317 standard Holiday Coupes). I seem to remember that the DeLuxe had electro/hydraulic window mechanisms. Loved that car, another one I should have never sold; one, among many. Great pictures, and thanks for sharing and bringing back great memories!

Thumbs up

Weclome!
Back a 5-7 years ago, I drove a red 1952 olds 98 Hoilday hardtop.
What a sweet car, but it had NO power steering.

Beautiful car - don't "Do" anything to it that you can't "UNDO" - that is such a well preserved example of a very very rare car.

I agree 100% ! I wil drop it 3 inches but I keep the original coils. I'll change the rochester for a stromberg. 97 but I'll keep the original setup.

I think I'll paint it with the original color.

Just love my ride.
